MY STORY

J. Monroe

James Scott is a broadcast journalism major who entered the Langston campus producing a number of university publications as a entering freshmen.

Scott produces both graphic designs and photography for available clients across the nation from D.C. to California, while sharpening his skills as a secondary graphic designer in a number of university positions. Scott has held the titles Primary Graphics Designer for The Office of Public Relations, The Office of Student Life, LU Ambassadors, SGA (Student Government Association) and much more. He has interned with a non-profit in The Gambia, Africa and Senegal and has been able to learn how to adapt and different environments and settings.

Scott single handedly created “Stay Tuned”, a news/mentor program available to Langston students in the broadcast field which has never been done in the school's history, and has gained popular reviews from fellow HBCUs and nationally known figures such as Marc Lamont Hill and the OBEA (Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association). Stay Tuned now sets the standard for all future work that the department produces, and sends out to viewers. Scott is now working with a non-profit based in The Gambia, Africa called “Nuts About Education” where Monroe has created a variety of graphics and taken photos for the website that will be coming soon
